Vintage Preserved Multi Shamrock Pin
Vintage Preserved Multi Shamrock Pin
A fabulous lucky talisman, an unbranded round brooch featuring a real, pressed clover preserved under a clear plastic dome with a gold-tone scalloped setting. This charming vintage round brooch is a genuine hand-pressed three-leaf clover. Such a unique piece, that captures a timeless piece of natural history! Making it the perfect nostalgic accessory or lucky charm! Long before Christianity, the Druids revered the three-leaf clover. They believed the number three was sacred, representing the triple goddess and the realms of earth, sea and sky.
In the 5th century, Saint Patrick famously used the three leaves of the shamrock to visually explain the Christian concept of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) to the Irish people. Traditionally, on St. Patrick's Day, believers would wear a sprig of shamrocks on their lapels. At the end of the evening, the clover was placed into the final glass of whiskey, a toast was made, and the liquid was drank - a ritual known as "drowning the shamrock" to guarantee prosperity and good health for the coming year!
It's also said to be a shield against evil, suggesting that wearing or carrying a shamrock grants the wearer the ability to detect malicious spirits, ward off bad luck, and bring overall good fortune.
